Lizards are cool

Yesterday Janie and I spent the day in Fredricksburg, a quaint German town about an hour east of Austin. Its a great place for beer, and German food. While there we went to the National Museum of the Pacific War (the famous Admiral Nimitz was born in Fredricksburg).

While there we saw this old WWII tank:

On closer inspection, we saw something unexpected and rather cool, here it is blown up:

Its a small lizard, which had changed to be almost exactly the same color as the tank!

I love that museum! I really miss texas and the lizards and toads. They were dying out for a time with the red ants taking over but how cool to see them! Did yall visit the Japanese garden? Is it still there? In San Antonio Fort Sam Houston used to be the coolest visit - the Quadrangle.
The hill country is so beautiful.

lilikaofthelake, the Japanese garden is still there - the museum was cool, although I must confess the think I like most about Fredricksburg is the beer ;-)

Hello Ian

Just read our schools wiki page (well your ex school) Dundalk Grammar School and noticed the link to your wiki page. Making my way through 4th year I was wondering what to do in the future and it helped to see someone from DGS doing well.

I then noticed you are based in Austin the city I spent my summer in this year. Amazing city with some great people (didn't have the "pleasure" of meeting Leslie).

Well just thought I would say hello.
Gareth.
